Class Dues & Treasury

September 2004

Dear Classmate,

We start the 2004-05 fiscal year in sound financial shape, and thus are able to maintain annual class dues at the $67 level. So long as inflation does not rear its ugly head, and we continue to benefit from a solid participation rate from the class, we should be able to maintain dues at $67.

If your situation permits, responding to the first mailing is also very helpful. About 20% of the dues we collect go to finance the cost of mailings, so the savings available from minimizing repeat mailings are considerable!.

As always, the bulk of our dues go to support our subscriptions to the PAW, and they remain tax deductible.

The class noticeably increased its contribution to the community service project – supporting undergraduates serving as interns through the Student Volunteers Council – so we were able to help eight students this past summer. Please keep up your support.

I also urge you to use the enclosed card for news about you and your family, which I will immediately pass on to our Class Secretary.

Sincerely,

Peter J. Holzer
Treasurer

re: Dues

Class dues support the publication and distribution of the Princeton Alumni Weekly, help to sponsor class events (and this web site), and cover the costs of printing and mailing class correspondence.

Annual Giving and Class dues are both tax-deductible. They are otherwise unrelated. Annual Giving supports the University with unrestricted funding while Class dues only benefit our class.

If you have misplaced your dues-return envelope, just send a check (made out to Princeton University Class of 1967) to:

Peter J. Holzer
183 Edgerstoune Road
Princeton, NJ 08540-6772

In addition to the $67 Class dues, we all have the opportunity to make our contribution to the Class project. ’Nuf said.
