Dave Foster is in his fourth year of full-time English teaching and his 17th year at Milton Academy. Hes loving the classroom and enjoying the freedom from administrative responsibilities. On leave for the second semester, Dave spent three weeks touring Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia, and then spent another three weeks hiking and exploring the south island of New Zealand. The trip highlight was his week in Christchurch with Sue and Bob Spigel. (Bob and Dave are in the photo.) The Spigels have spent the past 22 years in New Zealand, raised two children, including Betsy 99, and are now building a retirement home on a hill with a spectacular view just outside Christchurch. Bob was an engineering professor at the U. of Canterbury and is now with a consulting firm and the Natl. Institute for Water & Atmospheric Research. Sue is co-owner of a quilting shop. Dave fell in love with the country gorgeous, varied scenery, friendly people, an appealing, relaxed pace of life, plenty of great local bear, and recently, many fine wines.
Bruce Speidel is thoroughly enjoying his first anniversary of retiring from corporate labor law work. He and wife Alice are having lots of fun with their eight-year-old son, Colin, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Andy Rowe is still messing around in boats and shooting TV shows. Melinda and Bill Kiefers son, Wilkie, was an early admitee to Princeton for next Fall, and will be a member of the Class of 04.
