CLASS OF ’67 COCKTAIL PARTY
AFTER THE HARVARD GAME
Frank Strasburger’s home, 79 Lafayette Rd.

As you may notice from the change in address, Dick Prentke has returned the Class Notes column after two years of excellent service; I will do my best to maintain his high standard. While waiting for my e-mail to buzz with new information, I thought I would begin by reporting on some visits I’ve recently had with classmates.

Mike Bewley came to Washington early this summer in connection with a legal conference on employment law, Mike’s specialty in San Jose. However, his real reason was to visit art galleries in furtherance of his passionate interest in cutting-edge modern art. Over several bottles of wine at dinner, Mike shared details of his eclectic collection and knowledge. Anyone interested in the current art scene, whether in California, London, or New York, should give Mike a call.

Another Californian (albeit of recent vintage), Larry Lucchino, looked healthy and happy while giving me a tour of what, hopefully, will soon be the old home of the San Diego Padres. Larry, in his role as pres. of the Padres, has been immersed in clearing the way for a new, downtown stadium in San Diego and hopes to do for San Diego what Camden Yards did for Baltimore. Ever the gracious host, Larry even arranged for me to watch a 450-foot Mark McGwire home run off the San Diego pitching staff.

After working in Canada for 30 years following graduation, recent immigrant Gordy Gladman is now in his third year in the US. He is currently corporate finance-IT project manager for Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus, Ind.

35 YEARS AGO: Club life was dominating the social scene; the Ron Landeck Tigers were tearing up the Ivys in football; and “You Can’t Hurry Love,” “Cherish,” and “Reach Out, I’ll Be There” topped the pop charts.
