The West Coast Edition of PAW.

Kudos to baseball fans John Claster, Nick Bogard, and, especially, host Larry Lucchino for putting together a wonderful Princeton-at-the-Red-Sox gathering last summer. Larry is president of the Red Sox, Nick heads the Boston executive search firm J. Nicholas Arthur, and J. C. loves a good party. Thanks to cosecretary (and WOWS president) Lan Springs, the only extant picture suitable for this publication includes

Baseball fans

(l-r, standing): Larry, Dick Jones ’65, Sam Magruder, John Bitner, Dick McGinity ’66, George Largay ’66, the obscured Wade Kennedy ’66, Charlie McMillan, Frank Fitzgerald, Emeril Lagasse, Mike Greco ’65, Steve Brown, Mike Porter ’69, Phil Desantis, Jim Parmentier ’66, principal Red Sox owner John Henry, and then-gubernatorial candidate Steve Grossman. (Kneeling): Mike Tooke ’66, Arthur Bowen, Charlie Gogolak ’66, Bogus, special guest Dick Kazmaier ’52, Bob Greco ’66, J. C., and John Nagorniak ’66

From a recently discovered Fall 1963 Freshman Handbook: “Mon., Sept. 16 [1963]: General meeting. All students entering Princeton for the first time are required to attend a general meeting at Alexander Hall. All students are expected to wear a coat and tie.”
