Don, Buzz, and DickDon Smiegiel weighs in from the Brown football weekend: “A group of my fellow roommates and I [inhabitants of the Henry Hilton – 3rd entry/3rd floor] met at Princeton for a mini-Reunion. Dawn and Dick Fiss, Barb and Buz Code, Ruthie and Terry Whipple, and I were hosted by Carol and Buzz Buck (aka Koslowski) who live in Princeton. [That’s Don, Buzz, and Dick pictured.] Friday night we partied at the Bucks. Saturday morning we visited with Stirling Fiss and her roommates, members of the Class of ’06, to augment their classroom studies in paleontology. After watching the Tigers defeat Brown, we were feted by Carol and Peter Holzer, who bravely held a cocktail/buffet dinner party at their home. Other classmates attending the football game and the Holzers’ party were Susan and John Klein and Jane and Jim Edmonson. Jim and Elain Britt and Bill and Laurie Grad, apparently members of the Old Guard (redundantly the Class of ’68), were also at the Holzers. Brother Britt, consummate raconteur that he is, was, as usual, brimming with stories from our undergraduate days and thereafter (ask him about Whipple).

“Not attending either our 35th in June or this past weekend was Ric Bremer, who lives with his new bride, Lora, in the New York metropolitan area. Rick apparently remains concerned that Lora will learn the truth about his sordid past. Given that concern, it was curious that he sent all of us her email address. In any case, by unanimous vote of those present at the Holzers, Ric was confirmed yet again as Class Woosie for another five-year term.”

Plus ca change, plus c’est la mem chose .. 37 years ago Barry McGuire was riding the WOWS Top 40 reminding us juniors that we stood on the “Eve of Destruction.”
