Richard Erdman was confirmed by the Senate this spring as ambassador to Algeria. Roommate Ken Wilson was present at the confirmation hearing. The ambassador and wife Sibyl expect to be in Algiers for three years and hope to contribute to a broadening of our bilateral relations and democratization, following a decade of internal terrorism.
George Diehrs oldest son, George Jr., is a second-year student at St. Louis U.s school of law. Second son Matt finished his freshman year at Tulane, and daughter Elizabeth is a high school junior.
Jerry Brashears second daughter, Regan, graduated from UC-Santa Cruz with highest honors.
The Honolulu Advertiser reported that Dick Sutton, president of the Hawaii Assn. of USA Track & Field, assembled the islands successful bid for the 2005 masters national championships.
Jay Scribner has been elected vice president of surety for Harleysville Insurance and is responsible for developing and monitoring its corporate operational business plans, policies, procedures and standards. Prior to joining Harleysville, Jay was a vice president at Chubb and at AIG. He and wife Carroll live in Basking Ridge, N.J.
