The happy couple dining at a Darling Harbor restaurant in Sydney earlier this year are Helen and Graham Marcotte. Graham writes I retired June 2002 from Procter & Gamble after 35 years in soap and coffee manufacturing. Daughter Alyssa (U. of Missouri 01, engineering) and son Greg (Kansas City Art Institute 02, photography) cooperated by graduating on time and becoming gainfully employed. In true P&G style, Helen and I have set new goals and objectives: reducing our golf handicaps, increasing our tennis ratings, traveling at least once per month to a place with a beach, mountain or desert, and enjoying good wine and food. We will be in Kansas City near term as I teach operations management in the MBA program at Missouri-KC and volunteer as an overseer in the statewide Missouri Quality Award program. We took a four-week trip to Australia and New Zealand in January and February. Best trip we have ever been on. Saw the Australian (tennis) Open in Melbourne, snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef, four-wheeled through the Daintree Rain Forest, and spent five days in Sydney and nine in New Zealand, which has the most indescribable scenery we have ever seen.
