Peter Sandman (pictured) writes that he and his physician wife, Jody Lanard, found that 9/11 dramatically changed my consulting focus from risk communication to crisis communication, i.e., helping people bear their feelings and take appropriate action. For the past year the Sandman-Lanard team has been working with the World Health Organization, first on SARS, later on avian flu and outbreak communication generally (how to talk to people about serious infectious disease outbreaks.) You can see more about Peters work at www.psandman.com.
Joel Epstein is still commuting between the Big Apple and Shanghai as AIGs country manager. Joel extends an open invitation to any 67ers visiting China to drop in and say hello.
Steve Ranney writes: Three generations of Ranneys have now served in our armed forces. My father, Dan Ranney, was a naval officer in the Pacific during WWII. I served as an Army artillery officer in Vietnam. Now son Chris is an Air Force captain serving as a doctor in Omaha while awaiting orders to Iraq. Just a thought about Princetons asking each of us to do something in our nations service.
Finally, here at WOWS, inquiring minds want to know: Have you made your plans? There are only 553 shopping days left till 67s 40th reunion.
