Jane and Jim Edmondson wrote: It was long ago, but it takes us old guys longer to do things. The guys in the photo and their significant others gathered for a Redskins-Giants game well, at least for the tailgate part of it. Joan and Bob Cocker do a mean barbecue picnic. We ate like royalty, and then Joann and Phil Burstein and the Mary dOreo-Marc Lackritz 68 team bolted. The team of Caroline Whitlock and Ed Pritchett won the long-distance award, having come in from Durham, N.C. The Cockers and Edmondsons actually do the Redskins routine several times a year, especially when the weather is tolerable. The wives look great, dont you think?
Of course, that was then and this is now: Bob just had laparoscopic surgery, complete with robotic controls. Amazing! He healed unbelievably quickly. Ed had a severe heart attack in Durham. He is home and recovering under Carolines attention. Dr. Phil Burstein says Eds quick action in taking an aspirin and calling 911 saved his life. Pritch is a cardiologist after all. Phils son, John (lacrosse champ 93, I think), married Jenna in SF last October. We had a mini-reunion there, too. Spectacular event.
I think we already reported having four grandbabies over 4 1/2 months of 2003. More on the way. Got them all together in the same place for the first time last August at the beach. What a kick!
A bunch of 67 swimmers plan to gather at the masters national championships in Fort Lauderdale in May (Bill Burson, the organizer, plus Jim Kremer, Bill King, Bill Page, Bruce Brookens, Edmondson). Well report how pathetically or wonderfully well we do.
Gee, I had more pent up inside than I realized. Hope all are well.
