When planning your vacation:
John Pitt had a great visit in Santa Fe from classmate Dag Ryen in July. They took a road trip into the Jemez Mountains, and the New Mexico roads promptly delivered a flat tire and a lost radiator. Just like old times, John observes. John climbed Mt. Princeton later last summer, his sixth summit over 14,000 feet, and also summitted the substantially shorter Mt. Yale (OK, its a foot shorter.) His next goal was reaching the 19,340-ft. summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in October.
Brian Strunk relates the wonderful experience of watching his daughter Katharine 99 graduate from PU. She arranged for him to sing with the chapel choir during the Baccalaureate service, which provided him the best seats in the house. Brian and June enjoyed the hospitality of Madeline and Alan Blinder, and they continued a tennis rivalry that dates back to 1963.
Cabell Tutwiler is teaching high school in southwest Louisiana, where he advises there is plenty of room for itinerant classmates. His oldest daughter Eleanor is a sophomore at Middlebury and captain of the ultimate Frisbee team.
Richard Davidson continues to practice law in Orlando in the area of loan securitizations. Son Christopher 94 is in his second year at Vanderbilt pursuing an MBA; daughter Julie is also at Vanderbilt pursuing a masters in education; and son Scott is with a consulting firm in Tampa. I will take his silence regarding available space to be an oversight and am certain that, like Tutwiler, Blinder, and Pitt, he welcomes itinerant classmates, especially on their way to Disney World. . . .
Jim Sisserson had an extraordinary experience at the Jimmy Carter Work Project for Habitat for Humanity in Manila in the Philippines last March. There were 14,000 volunteers, 6,000 of whom were from overseas, to build 293 houses in a single week. Four to 10 people live in each 250-square-ft. house, but they are dreams come true to these wonderful people, who help build their own houses.
