Talk about long-delayed comebacks Stephen Chernicoff whom you all may remember as the captain of the Princeton G.E. College Bowl Team in 1967, which defeated Mount Holyoke only to lose in dramatic fashion to tiny Agnes Scott College in front of a nationwide audience, has now dramatically avenged the defeat. Calling on his wide-ranging knowledge and many years in front of the tube, in Dec. 1993, Stephen tried out (for the third time) and was accepted to appear on JEOPARDY in July 1994. Following two victorious appearances, Stephen continued into the fall season for three more victories this September and was retired as a five-time undefeated champion, with total winnings of $82,902. Stephen says he will now appear in the JEOPARDY Tournament of Champions, beginning the week of Nov. 14 and, hopefully, make the finals on Nov. 24 and 25, for potential additional prize money of $100,000. Take that, Agnes Scott, wherever you may be.
Stephen and Helen have been married for 28 years, and have two children, Ann (13) and David (9). In his day job, Steve is a technical writer on computer documentation and is the author of several books for Macintosh programmers.
Bruce McLucas continues his practice of gynecology in L.A. and has recently developed a new device for gynecological surgery that he hopes to market in the very near future.
