In response to my earlier plea for news, Andy Miracle wrote me a wonderful letter on his activities in Ft. Worth. Andy has been teaching anthropology at Texas Christian Univ. and has been married to Tina Satz, sister of friend and classmate Dick Satz, for 26 years. Daughter Rebekah is now studying in the math-science library at Columbia and son Jed is studying Japanese and public relations at the Univ. of Texas at Austin. Andys most recent book, LESSONS OF THE LOCKER ROOM: THE MYTH OF SCHOOL SPORTS, examines the purported beneficial effects of athletics on North American youths and tries to predict the changing role of athletics in education. Last year, Andy and Tina coauthored a book on human sexuality that is scheduled to be released early 1995. Andy writes, I suppose that now I should do a book on religion, my undergraduate major, to complete the triumvirate of cocktail party conversation topics.
Robert Dix writes that he moved this year from Paris back to London, but did manage to recently take a weekend trip to Princeton, where he saw the Colgate game and met with Bob Casey and Jim Britt.
John Tait writes from Ottawa that he recently moved from deputy minister of justice of Canada to being a senior advisor to the Privy Council Office and Skelton-Clark Fellow at Queens Univ. After 6 years at Justice, as deputy head, a change of pace and a chance to reflect and teach for one year.
Dave Kallick is practicing law in Chicago with the firm of Tizhler & Wald, Ltd., representing corporate clients. Davids daughter is a freshman at the Univ. of Arizona in Tucson and his son is a sophomore at Highland Park H.S.
