Some news on classmates living or traveling abroad:
Jake Williams writes that he is still living in Sydney, Australia, with the prospect of staying for the long term. Jake says this should enable him to win the long-distance prize for the 30th. Classmates and family are welcome to visit and see this beautiful city. Booked full for the 2000 Olympics, however.
Schuyler Henderson is a partner at Baker & McKenzie in London, and wife Paula teaches at Ithaca College, London extension, and lectures in the U.S., England, and France. Their older son, Schuyler, graduated from Dartmouth and is on his way to India to work for six months in a leper hospital in Calcutta. Their younger son, Heath, will graduate in May from U.Va. and be commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S.M.C.
Bob Gebhardt writes from Lugano, Switzerland, that Gray Johnston and Karen came over last summer and saw Bob in Chianti, where we drank, ate, went to the Palio in Siena, drank, went to Florence, ate & drank.
Sadler Poe took a sabbatical in October and went to France to study the language for a month. While there, Bill Woodward called and proposed a weekend road trip to Rome. A great time, despite the grappa. Paul Schmidt has returned to Michigan after three years as C.F.O. of GM Intl. Operations in Zurich. His new position is C.F.O. of GM North American Automotive. While the family loved Europe, its very tough to get college sports scores (especially Princeton!) in local Swiss papers.
