Other Years

Not a bad turnout for our 28th reunion and party at the Strasburgers. Coming back were many staunch regulars, including 30th-reunion Chairman Bob Mayer and Class President Allen Adler. Among the revelers were: Bloxy Baker, George Bassett, Bill Black, David Blair, Jim Bonner, Jay Bramhall, Steve Brown, Jan Buck, Bob Casey, Charles Clarkson, Virgil Cummins, Jonathan Dyer, Gus Escher, Gerry Estes, John Fisher, William Floyd, Ritchie Geisel, Henry Herrod, Jay Higgins, Jim Hillegass, Bob Hills, Pete Holzer, Warren Kelemen, Lee Mercier, Ronald Neymark, Charley Parl, Dave Paul, Roger Philips, Dean Pope, Jim Staker, Philip Stowell, Frank Strasburger, Ted Todd, Tim Tulenko, Tom Tulenko, Jan Twardowski, Larry Warter, Collin Weber, Joe Wood, and Bill Woodward.

Whit Turner reports that immediately following his retirement from the Navy in Oct. 1993, he departed for the Caribbean on his ketch, RUBAIYAT. After a great trip through the islands and eventually to Venezuela, he returned in the summer of 1994 and is now living in King George, Va., consulting in northern Virginia, preparing for the tuition game, and hoping for a serious return south under sail after daughter Alex and son Ridge complete their college years.

With the final acceptances in April, five more ’67ers are the proud parents of daughters accepted into the Princeton Class of ’99: Jim Rakowski (Susan), Rus Swanson (Jennifer), Brian Strunk (Katharine), Oliver Goldsmith (Lena), and Ted Gutelius (Holly). Congratulations to all!

Speaking of a proud parent, Rich Sorota writes that oldest daughter Alexandra is completing her sophomore year as a member of the Class of ’97. Rich is still a member of the American Stock Exchange (21 years), trading every day and enjoying every fluctuating minute.

I hope to hear from many of you over the summer, so our classmates will know more in the fall.
