I am pleased to announce that the Class of 67 Scholarship has been awarded to Charles P. Stowell 96 of Havre De Grace, Md. Charles is a classics major and was the recipient of the Charles A. Steele Prize in 1995, and is hopefully headed to law or medical school.
Congratulations to David Blairs daughter, Katherine, and A. Searle Fields daughter, Laura, on early admission to PU.
Richie Geisel, who has been president of Recording for the Blind since 1989, reports the organization has changed its name to Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic. This reflects the fact that more than 60 percent of the students using his organization for textbooks on tape or computer disk are dyslexic. Rich asks that if any classmates know of dyslexic kids or kids who might benefit from learning through listening, please phone him at 800-221-1098.
Grant Thomas reports he is still involved in peer-assistance efforts in schools in Austin, Tex., and would welcome contact with other classmates who are interested in education and/or peer assistance.
Conger Gabels son, Christopher, is a junior at PU majoring in physics.
It is with deep regret that I report the death of Michael Wade Miles Jan. 18, 1996.
