Van Standke made what (he hopes) is his last cross-country move and settled in the woods in New Canaan, Conn. Van is with Cigna Financial Advisors, managing investment product sales in the metro NYC area. Wife Barbara and four daughters are well, with the oldest at UConn Law School, and the youngest in first grade.
I received an interesting letter from the wife of our late classmate Javier White. Renee White was an original member of the 1960s girl group, the Chantels. Unfortunately, my husband, Javier A. White, Esq., never had the opportunity to hear the group, of which I am an original member, perform live. While we were married, the Chantels were not singing. In 1995, we were inducted into the United In Group Harmonys Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 1996, the Rhythm and Blues Foundation honored the group with the Pioneers Award during Grammy week. The Whites two children are Javier Rene (19), a student at the Vermont Academy and Naomi Niasha (21), a senior at McAllister College.
