The photograph is of Doug James, Phil Handy, and Jack James Bohen, the child of Doug and wife Kim Bohen, born in June 1996. The picture was taken while Doug, Kim, and Jack were visiting Phil and wife Gail in Winter Park, Fla., this past October. Doug and Kim are living at Choate Rosemary Hall, where Doug continues to teach English and provide wise counsel to young people. According to Phil, Doug can still bench press well above his weight and is in great shape and a model for all of us.
Jim Sisserson writes that his first grandchild, Joshua, was born to daughter Paige and son-in-law Rick Lzoka on Nov. 9, 1996, in Laurel, Md. Professionally, Jim writes that mediation is a great alternative to practicing law and has no regrets since retiring at the end of 1995.
John Pitts recently drove across the U.S. (D.C. to New Mexico) just after retiring from the State Dept. in July 1996. At the end of a 27-year career involving service on three continents, he stopped on his way to Santa Fe to visit with Dag Ryen on the same farm that John visited during their undergraduate years. From Santa Fe, John writes, All 67ers are welcome to stop by the Santa Fe Pittstop to enjoy some good old Southwest hospitality and cooking.
Roger Liddell ran into Grant Thomas at Hotchkiss School Parents Weekend this past October. It seems that both children, unlike their fathers, are respectable students.
