ON SAT., FEB. 21, at the Alumni Day festivities honoring former basketball coach Butch van Breda Kolff 45, members of the nationally ranked 67 team Allen Adler, Robbie Brown, Ed Hummer, Larry Lucchino, and Gary Walters all returned to the hardwood at the Dartmouth game to honor their former coach. Only his sons hockey tournament kept Bill Koch from joining his former teammates. According to Allen Adler, in response to a direct question, Butch finally admitted what we have all known for years, that the 67 basketball team was Princetons BEST EVER, although its hard to argue with this years edition.
Another great event held the same evening at Prospect House was the 67 Alumni Day Class Dinner, beautifully organized by Ken Wilson. With 37 progeny now attending Princeton, the parents and children of the class formed the core of what Ken hopes will become a big annual event, not confined to classmates paying tuition. Among those students attending without their alumni fathers were: Juliette Dellecker 99, Rachel Rubinfeld 00, Will Holt 99 and Shep Ryen 01. Parents and students attending were: Pat and Steve Oxman with sons Gavin 98 and Matt 01, Roger Philipss wife, Jeannette, with son Matt 98, Ken Wilson with daughter Alix 99, Greg Hickok with daughter Helen 98, Rosalyn and Ted Gutelius with daughter Holly 99, Steve Brown with daughter Emily 99, and Andy and Jack Laporte with son Chris 99. Alumni attending without children were Bob Losey and Leslie and David Guyer.
